Bracket Watch: Where are the Ole Miss teams in latest 'Bracketology' ahead of SEC tournaments

The regular season ends on Sunday for the Ole Miss women’s basketball team and the men’s team wraps things up next weekend and the final NCAA Tournament projections are rolling out ahead of conference tournaments.
On Friday the latest ‘Bracketology’ updates were revealed by ESPN and CBS Sports with both teams still a top-half seed in their respective tournaments despite recent skids.
Coming of Wednesday’s 30-point loss at No. 1 Auburn the Ole Miss men are still a 7 Seed in the Midwest Region (Indianapolis) according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi’s newest projections. The Rebels would play 10 Seed Baylor in the first round in Cleveland with a potential second round matchup against 2 Seed Michigan State or 15 Seed Robert Morris.
Jerry Palm of CBS Sports is close to the same line of thinking that Lunardi is, putting Ole Miss as the 7 Seed in the Midwest Region along with 2 Seed Michigan State and 15 Seed Robert Morris. The only difference is Palm’s 10 Seed goes to Nebraska.
The Rebels (19-9, 8-7 Southeastern Conference) host Oklahoma (17-11, 4-11) on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT before closing out the home schedule with No. 5 Tennessee (23-5, 10-5) on Wednesday at 8 p.m CT. They conclude the regular season at No. 3 Florida (24-4, 11-4) on March 8 at 5 p.m. CT.
Their NET ranking is still inside the top 30 at No. 27 heading into the final three games of the schedule.

Ole Miss women’s team still a projected high seed heading into SEC Tourney
Thursday’s 16-point loss to No. 6 South Carolina to close out the home schedule did not damage the NCAA Tournament outlook for the Rebels.
With one more game remaining on the schedule, playing at No. 7 LSU on Sunday a 3 p.m. CT, Ole Miss is still sitting in good position for a top seed. While hosting is probably out of the question now minus a win in Baton Rouge and a good run in the SEC Tournament next week in Greenville, South Carolina, it appears the Rebels (18-9, 9-6) will be just on the outside.
ESPN’s Charlie Creme has Ole Miss as the 5 Seed in Region 4 Birmingham in his latest ‘Bracketology’ update on Friday. The Rebels would play 12 Seed Middle Tennessee in the first round in Manhattan, Kansas.
Potential second round matchups could be against host team and 4 Seed Kansas State or 13 Seed UTSA.
In Friday’s NET rankings update Ole Miss is still at No. 13, which is helping the résumé when it comes to a potential high seed in next month’s NCAA Tournament.
