The Ole Miss offense got good news over the weekend with two of its key pieces from this season announcing their intentions to be in Oxford come next fall.

A day after Jordan Watkins announced he was coming back for a final season with Ole Miss teammate Caden Prieskorn capped the weekend with a Sunday evening reveal of the same intentions.

With in 24 hours the Rebels retained two of their top four pass catchers from this year. Earlier in the week Dayton Wade announced he will head to the NFL after playing in the Peach Bowl to close out his two-year tenure at Ole Miss.

Prieskorn made the announcement on his X account with a simple “STAYING IN THE SIP!” By saying so little the Ole Miss tight end said a lot as Lane Kiffin is working to retain as much of his potent offense as he can for next year’s campaign into the College Football Playoff’s 12-team field.

Prieskorn missed the first three games of the season due to a toe injury that need surgery during fall camp. He made his Ole Miss debut, transferring in from Memphis last offseason, against Alabama.

He finished the regular season with 20 catches for 313 yards and two touchdowns. Of the two scores the biggest was without question the wide-open 26-yard touchdown catch against Mississippi State to seal the Egg Bowl victory and another 10-win regular season.

Another reason Prieskorn was invaluable out of the transfer portal was his addition to the Rebels run game. Having a blocker the size of Prieskorn helped Quinshon Judkins finish the regular season as a top-four rusher in the Southeastern Conference.

With Prieskorn returning it keeps stability in the tight ends room after it was in a state of flux this year. The former Memphis tight end was the starter once he returned from injury but behind him the depth chart looked different mid-season with the dismissal of Michael Trigg from the program.

After not being used the back half of the season Kyirin Heath hit the portal this week and Jayvontay Conner announced his intentions to go the portal route as well but changed his mind a day later. Now it is those two and Hudson Wolfe that make up the Ole Miss tight ends room, for now.
