Condensed Game: No. 20 Ole Miss 37, No. 24 Tulane 20
Ole Miss is perfect through the first two weeks of the 2023-24 season.
Both record-wise (2-0) and in touchdown-scoring opening drives in less than a minute.
The Rebels needed just 51 seconds for their first touchdown of the year and in a 73-7 rout of Mercer last week.
Against Tulane, they went even faster.
Their 48-second, opening-bell sprint into the Green Wave end zone was capped by a 31-yard touchdown pass from Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart to wide receiver Tre Harris. The duo has combined for five through eight quarters.
“I commend Tulane,” Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said afterwards. “That’s a really good team that played really hard. Obviously gave us a lot of challenges today, just like they’ve given a lot of people. They won the Cotton Bowl one year ago. They’re a Top 25 team. They’re well-coached and played really hard. They’re very tough up front in their front seven on defense and gave us a lot of problems.
“I commend our players, too. May not feel like it, but game ended 27-3. After they made their early run, halfway through the second quarter, we outscored them 27-3 the rest of the game. That’s some guys doing some things right.”

Harris, however, was injured in the win.
He could already be quite doubtful for Georgia Tech.
Ole Miss, defensively, is also 2 for 2 in opening drives. But in allowing bust plays and touchdowns to their opponents.
Tulane converted with a 60-plus-yard jolt on third-and-9 to tie the score at 7-7. The Green Wave led by as many as 10 points before the Rebels rattled off 20 unanswered to take control. The Ole Miss defense, in its first season under Pete Golding, formerly of Alabama, bounced back from a poor start, just as Ole Miss did against Mercer.
Veteran Ole Miss cornerback Deantre Prince recorded his sixth career interception. He also broke up two passes in the end zone with 3:00 minutes remaining in the game and Texas threatening.
Let’s check out those highlights and so many more, in a condensed game provided by Ole Miss Athletics.
