Condensed Game: No. 22 Ole Miss 73, Mercer 7

No. 22 Ole Miss on Saturday set a new single-game record for passing yards (524) in a 73-7 leveling of Mercer to open the 2023-24 campaign. The previous high (517) came against ULM back in 2018.
The Rebels also put up the sixth-best offensive performance in program history (667 total yards), and the 73 points are the most scored by the Rebels in any game under now-fourth-year head coach Lane Kiffin and tied for the seventh-best in school history.
Senior wide receiver and Louisiana Tech transfer Tre Harris became the first Rebel to catch four touchdowns in a game. He’s also just the 12th to bring in at least three.
Harris is only the 22nd SEC player ever with at least four receiving touchdowns in a game. He ended the day with six total catches for 133 yards. Fellow receiver and second-year Rebel Jordan Watkinshad (111 yards and was even with Harris in team-leading catches (6). Quarterback Jaxson Dart passed for 334 yards and only had five incompletions in 23 pass attemps..

Former On3 Five-Star Plus+ recruit Suntarine Perkins led Ole Miss with nine total tackles in his first college game, including four solo tackles. Zxavian Harris matched Perkins with four solo tackles of his own, which set a new career-high. He had six total tackles, second-best on the team.
Ole Miss defensively did not allow Mercer to enter the red zone at any point.
