Ole Miss senior guard Marquesha Davis is making a habit of scoring 20 or more points and leading her red-hot Rebels to win after win after win.

Davis had a pair of 20-point outings in back-to-back home wins over Florida and Tennessee. The Rebels defeated the Volunteers for just the third time in 30 years on Sunday.

Davis showed Thursday her personal hot streak travels just as well. Ole Miss is on a two-game road trip, culminating in a showdown at top-ranked South Carolina on Sunday. But Vanderbilt came first, and Davis scored a season-high 25 points to help Ole Miss escape Nashville with a 67-61 win Thursday night.

“She’s our most athletic player on the team,” Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin said of Davis. “She’s playing like someone that knows this is their last leg in college.

Davis now has four 20-point games this season and three in a row. All seven of her career 20-point games have come as a Rebel. She’s a one-time transfer from Arkansas. Davis has scored in double figures in seven consecutive games.

McPhee-McCuin continued, “I’m super proud of her. If she continues to be consistent, good things will come her way. She wants to win, and I love seeing her play a high-level style of basketball.”

Two other Rebels, Snudda Collins and Kennedy Todd-Williams, scored in double figures.

They had 12 points and 10 points, respectively. Collins is three points away from moving into the Top 5 in school history in career scoring.

Tyia Singleton came off the bench and secured a season-high 11 rebounds. Ole Miss, as a team, out-rebounded Vanderbilt, 39-29. Todd-Williams tied her season-best with two blocks.

The Rebels have won each of their last three meetings with the Commodores, tying the longest streak (3) in the series. However, Thursday was one of just five all-time wins (in 25 games) at Vanderbilt.

“Incredible win for us on the road against a team that’s red hot in Vanderbilt,” said McPhee McCuin, whose Rebels take their shot at the Gamecocks on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. The came will be broadcast by ESPN2.

“Team I expect to be in the NCAA Tournament and has a higher NET (ranking) than us. Just really feeling grateful to be able to come out and get this win tonight.”

Here’s everything else McPhee-McCuin had to say following the win at Vanderbilt.
