After six straight weeks Ole Miss got the opportunity to get some rest and relaxation as the 2023 college football season reached Week 7.

With the middle of the schedule here for nearly all the teams the march to the bowl season begins to have a more serious tone. Now there are programs that have either clinched that all-important sixth win or are right on the cups of it, like No. 13 Ole Miss currently it.

The number bowl berths sitting at 82 for 41 games the slots will start to get filled up quickly over the next couple weeks as teams with at least six wins increases. For the Rebels (5-1, 2-1 Southeastern Conference) the opportunity to secure their postseason plans comes this weekend at Auburn (3-3, 0-3).

All season Ole Miss has been in the weekly bowl projections, including the way-too-early ones that come out at the start of fall camp in August. But now those projections have improved in bowl game hierarchy with the Rebels strong start to the season.

Last week, coming off the win over Arkansas, Ole Miss saw all its bowl projections move firmly inside Florida. Not much changed this week with the Rebels unable to damage those projections with a potential loss. Nearly all six of the Rebels projections match last week’s in terms of the bowl game, but the opponents have changed.
