From the Locker Room: Ole Miss sweeps Mississippi State for first time in nearly two decades
The Ole Miss women’s basketball team got back into the win column on Thursday, defeating Mississippi State 78-63 inside the SJB Pavilion. It was the first time in nearly 20 years the Rebels completed the regular season sweep over the Bulldogs.
After back-to-back losses in Southeastern Conference play Ole Miss (17-4, 6-2) got back to its normal self and returned to ‘fight mode’ and its roots against the Bulldogs.
“When we lost to ‘Bama I felt like our team thought it was a fluke,” said head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin. “Then we went to Auburn and forgot that we had to finish the game. Tonight, we weren’t leaving any doubt. We’re back in fight mode and that’s when we’re at our best. When we’re hunting.”

Ole Miss also hit its mark of finishing a pod at worst at 2-2 with the win. The Rebels went 4-0 in the first of four four-game pods McCuin breaks down the SEC schedule in. Staying on schedule is crucial as the back half of conference play begins on Sunday at Arkansas.
