HIGHLIGHTS: Dayton Wade, fellow Rebels make final NFL case at Ole Miss Pro Day
Ole Miss football will continue spring practices on Thursday.
Wednesday in Oxford, however, was reserved for Ole Miss Pro Day.
Seventeen Rebels put their skills on display in front of personnel from all 32 NFL team in advance of April’s draft. Fifteen only last season wrapped their Ole Miss careers. The Rebels won a program-record 11 games in 2023-24.
Dayton Wade was the biggest winner on the day. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash (4.44) and clocked a 4.25 20-yard shuttle. Wade zipped through his 3-cone in 7.02 seconds and posted a vertical of 37.5 inches. His 10-foot-5 broad jump was the best of all participants.
“I felt like today was a showcase of things I didn’t really get to showcase during the season,” Wade said. Wade saw action in 49 combined games over his career between Ole Miss and Western Kentucky.
“I know people have a lot of questions about my size and everyone was wondering how fast I would run today. Hopefully I showed them what they wanted to see.”

The Rebels close out spring football with the annual Grove Bowl April 13.
Kickoff of the event, which is expected to be fashioned after the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games, is 3 p.m. CT.
“A lot of work out there,” Rebel head coach Lane Kiffin said following Tuesday’s session. “Continuing to move people different places and work different situations. Really pleased with how hard our guys have worked. Very competitive atmosphere out there and guys working back from injuries and pushing themselves.
“We have a really, really good roster. Definitely the best (collection of talent) we’ve had since we’ve been here.”
