Ole Miss’ Quinshon Judkins showed off his dance skills a couple times against LSU after scoring a touchdown and a two-point conversion, busting out the moonwalk celebration.

It went viral and generated a lot of buzz for Judkins who had his best game of the season last Saturday with 177 rushing yards a rushing touchdown and a touchdown catch.

But it was the moonwalk that the top of discussion for Judkins during his appearance on RebTalk this week. Made famous by Michael Jackson nearly forty years ago, Judkins felt the ‘King of Pop’ needed to be honored during the post-score celebration.

“I just felt like I was bad on that play so I just did it,” Judkins replied with a smile.

Judkins was not the only one all smiles on the Ole Miss offense. For the first time this season the Rebels rushed for over 300 yards. Though it was nearly for the second time in the last three games with Ole Miss rushing for 299 yards against Georgia Tech.

The sophomore running back had his best individual performance of the year by rushing for nearly his season total up to that game. Judkins credited the entire offense and the work that went in prior to Saturday.

“I felt like our offense, as far as the running game, finally got rolling this past weekend,” Judkins said. “I was really excited going out. Everybody was prepared with the job that we knew we had to do. It was a successful game.”

Judkins has gotten a decent sample size of life in the Southeastern Conference having played in 10 conferences games in his young career.

Saturday’s shootout against the Tigers instilled in Judkins the reason he wanted to play in the SEC in the first place.

“As far as this conference, that’s what you dream of,” Judkins said. “That’s what you come to the SEC for. To play in games like that. Big crowds, a lot of fans, a lot of great players and playing in the best conference. You’re playing against the best talent that you can and just to go out there and execute and win a game, that’s what it’s all about.”

The start to the season was not how Ole Miss nor Judkins drew it up but things are starting to click.

After a 60-yard performance in the season opener against Mercer Judkins followed it up with games of 48 and 37 yards, respectively.

The Alabama game saw Judkins starting to look more like himself, despite the stat sheet not reflecting it. Then Saturday against LSU the Judkins of 2022 returned to the field, catching the attention of head coach Brian Kelly.

Fourth-year head coach Lane Kiffin has spoken about the slow start to the Ole Miss run game this season, including during last week’s RebTalk. With Judkins in attendance for this week’s installment, Kiffin spoke about his standout running back some more.

“He’s done a great job,” Kiffin said. “I think when you have one of the best seasons in the history of college football, for a freshman that’s a lot of stuff on you and a lot of things coming your way. So, he’s handled those really well and he’s also got injured early in the season and fought through it, played through it. …I think now he’s just picking right back up and we’ll get, not just playing where we were but better than we ever have.”
