Injury update: Lane Kiffin gives update on Ole Miss RB Henry Parrish, Jr.
The run game has been hard to get going this season for Ole Miss, with plenty of variables in play for the cause, but things just got tougher.
Henry Parrish, Jr. suffered an injury during Saturday’s game against Arkansas near the end of the first half. He was in visible pain seconds after he went down but eventually was helped to the Arkansas locker room, but during halftime was carted down to the Rebels locker room.
Beyond the obvious feeling that Parrish’s injury was not good and felt long term there was not much else from Lane Kiffin on Saturday.
Sunday’s weekly Zoom session saw Kiffin give an update, albeit a brief and to the point one.
“Yeah, he’s out. That’s all I got,” Kiffin said when asked.
After Saturday’s Game Parrish is the Southeastern Conference’s ninth-best rusher with 678 yards and 10 touchdowns on 130 carries.
Now Ole Miss will be without its leading rusher for next week’s game against No. 2 Georgia and possibly the rest of the season.

The thought was Ulysses Bentley IV would move up into the starter role in the second half but the bulk of the carries went to Domonique Thomas, who had 10 carries for 41 yards on Saturday.
Prior to those numbers Thomas had appeared in three other games, all non-conference, and had 12 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Kiffin was higher on what Thomas did in the pass protection department, which one block led to Jaxson Dart hitting Jordan Watkins for one of his five touchdown catches.
“I think he’s a really consistent runner,” Kiffin said of Thomas. “Had some really good pass protections, too, that led to two touchdowns on pass pros. It was good. Got an opportunity to go in there. We were struggling a little bit.”
