'It's trash': Jaxson Dart is not a fan of his rendering in the new College Football 25 video game
DALLAS — When the Southeastern Conference Media Days get underway in mid-July it signals the start of talking season, a week where a lot of coach speak and deflection of praise by Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Dart took the opportunity to use his first Media Days experience as a platform to express his unhappiness about his likeness is the new College Football 25 video game that released on Monday.
On Sunday night a photo that showed Dart’s digital player headshot looks like in the much-anticipate reboot of the popular video game franchise. It is a stretch to say the image on the game is identical to Dart.
In fact, the Ole Miss quarterback was more than happy to let anyone who asked his thoughts on it.
“I mean it’s trash,” Dart said bluntly when speaking with Ole Miss reporters. “I don’t know what they looked at. I don’t know where they got that from but that ain’t me.
“Hopefully they can make adjustments throughout the year like Madden. …Hopefully they can just take another picture or look at it and compare and go, ‘Okay, maybe we messed up.'”
Dart was one of the tens of thousands of college football players who opted into the the new game as part of Electronic Arts (EA) massive NIL deal. Players who chose to have their likeness included in the game were given $600 and a free copy.
When it comes to Dart’s actual play in the game he has one of the highest overall ratings among quarterbacks at 90. He is tied with Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, Kansas’ Jalon Daniels and Liberty’s Kaidon Salter for the third-highest rating.

Despite how he is currently designed Dart is still excited to be in the video game.
“It’s pretty cool, isn’t it?” Dart added. “I grew up playing it. I was always the kid who when my parents parents went to sleep I would try and sneak it on at night and play it. It’ll be fun to kind of experience that, too. I just think that is something that’s really cool.”
Ole Miss players who opted into the game with Dart had their ratings revealed with the game’s launch.
Tre Harris was among the Top 100 players rated by EA Sports and has one of the top ratings among receivers at 90.
There is the rumor that EA will provide live updates and alter the ratings for each player according to how their play is going throughout the season.
After seeing how his quarterback looks there is only one thing on Harris’ mind once he turns the game on for the first time.
“I’m satisfied with it. I do wish it was a little higher,” Harris said. “But probably what I got to do is work on my route running a little bit more. Just go out there and play my game, be dominant receiver like I am and hopefully they’re going to boost my overall a little bit more.
“(Dart’s is) very interesting. …I’m curious to see what mine looks like. That’s all I’m worried about, now.”
