Jonathan Mingo signs his NFL rookie contract with the Carolina Panthers
The pen has been put to paper and Jonathan Mingo has made his first NFL contract official, signing his rookie deal with the Carolina Panthers the team announced on Tuesday.
Mingo is the latest rookie to sign their respective contract with the Carolina Panthers, making former Alabama quarterback and overall No. 1 pick Bryce Young the only one yet to sign a deal.
The mandatory NFL minicamps began this week, including the Panthers.
Mingo’s contract is an automatic four-year deal as are all contracts for NFL Draft selections, meaning the former Ole Miss receiver is signed with the Panthers through the 2026 season.
Carolina took Mingo in early in the second round of this year’s NFL Draft as the 39th overall selection. He was the Panthers second pick after Young.
After playing on opposite sidelines the last four years in the Southeastern Conference Mingo and Young are now teammates and part of the overhaul by the Panthers to rebuild its offense. The quarterback and receiver are two major cornerstones of the renovation.

“It’s a good thing. I’ve been on the opposite side of Bryce the last few years,” Mingo told local media last month. “I’m (0-3) against him. So, it’s finally a blessing to be on his side. We just got to keep building our chemistry and just try to help the team win.”
Mingo is the most recent Ole Miss player to sign their rookie contracts.
Of the four former Rebels who were taken in this year’s NFL Draft Mingo is the third to sign a contract with their new team.
