2026 Tupelo (Miss.) defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy has decommitted from LSU following a second visit to Ole Miss in the past three weeks. The Rebels are putting the press on for him in a big way.

JaReylan McCoy is the nation’s No. 124 overall prospect and the 11th-ranked defensive lineman in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 is high on him, ranking McCoy No. 88 overall and the 8th-ranked defensive lineman in the 2026 class, which is higher than the other three major recruiting services.

Two weeks ago, he took a visit to Ole Miss that impressed him. Head coach Lane Kiffin, defensive coordinator Pete Golding and defensive line coach Randall Joyner all visited with him. Mississippi State also hosted him in the last month.

“It was pretty good me,” McCoy told On3. ” Coach Golding and coach Joyner went over my film, had a nice tour around the campus, got to meet with coach Kiffin, talked about the plans they have for this offseason with some of the new guys. It was a great experience. I haven’t been for a normal visit since freshman year, only game days so it was pretty good.”

JaReylan McCoy’s finalists were LSU, Tennessee, and USC before committing to the Tigers on ESPN at the Under Armour All-America Game. The Tigers had been recruiting McCoy since he was in the eighth grade.

“I love the brotherhood there,” he said when he committed. “They communicate with each other, they keep it real and they put their players in a position to have success. LSU has a great history and coach Kelly is going to keep that going. I have been to LSU four or five times and it just feels like a place I can call home.”

“I’m locked in,” JaReylan McCoy added at the time. “It was tough. I like USC a lot and Tennessee is a great school too, but LSU is the school for me. The program has great history, the team has great coaches and they made me feel like a priority.”
