Beard has an extensive resume and recruiting cachet. Let’s just say his potential impact is all but immeasurable for a starving fanbase in the SEC.
“It can’t be stated enough how good of a basketball coach Chris Beard is,” Hartzell said. “Now, will that translate to Oxford, Mississippi? The SEC has eight NCAA Tournament teams — tied for the most of any conference. The coaches in the SEC, it’s a loaded group. Chris Beard fits within the league.
