LISTEN: Transfer additions impressing through three weeks of Ole Miss baseball intrasquads
The Ole Miss baseball Rebels, with three weeks of intrasquads behind them, will host Jacksonville State this weekend for their first exhibition of the fall season.
To preview, long-time Rebel hitting coach Mike Clement, on Monday, joined Ben Garrett (Ole Miss Spirit/On3) for the latest installment of Talk of Champions: Short Sessions, touching on the Rebels’ marquee off-season transfer additions, among myriad other topics.
“Coming up on the halfway point of the fall,” Clement said. “Our guys out of the portal are good. They’ve been what we expected, but a couple of them have been even more than that. I’m speaking more from the offensive side.

“They were huge pick-ups at the time we picked them up, but there’s some alfas in the group and some leadership and all of those things. Not only good baseball players, which we kind of knew, and I think our fans knew, but you don’t know how they’re going to mix into the locker room and all that, and it’s been, to this point, pretty seamless.
“Got a fall game against Jacksonville State this weekend, so it’ll be good to see someone in a different uniform in the other dugout and all that. But so far, so good.”
