LISTEN: Tre Harris is tracking to become Ole Miss’ best-ever wide receiver. Even passing The Mayor.

Who’s the best Ole Miss wide receiver of all-time?
AJ Brown came to mind first, right? Laquon Treadwell popularized No. 1 as THE Ole Miss wide receiver number. Shay Hodge? How about Donte (Feed!) Moncrief?
Tre Harris is tracking to make a case as the very best of them all, especially if he helps lift the 4-0 Ole Miss Rebels to their first national championship since the 60s.
“When you have the best receiver in the country,” Ole Miss third-year star quarterback Jaxson Dart said recently, “you give him as many chances as you can.”

No. 6 Ole Miss hosts Kentucky (2-2, 0-2 SEC) Saturday at 11 a.m. CT on ABC.
Kentucky has already played two SEC games — against South Carolina and Georgia. The Wildcats lost both games.
Harris is on the watchlist for the Biletnikoff Award, handed out each year to college football’s best receiver. He currently leads the SEC — and is No. 2 nationally — in receiving yards. Harris is a transfer from Louisiana Tech and has 1,614 in two years at Ole Miss. He has 3,140 for his career, and Harris has hauled in 26 combined touchdowns, including 12 as a Rebel.
We’re only considering his Ole Miss numbers in this GOAT discussion, while recognizing he’s got eight regular-season games and the postseason still to come. He’s going to get more opportunities, health permitting.
We’re only having this discussion now because Harris has arguably already moved into the Top 5. Brown is the Rebels’ all-time leading receiver with 2,984 yards. If Harris, a converted quarterback, keeps at his current pace, he’ll clear Brown, not to mention Laquon Treadwell’s record-setting catches (6.31) and receiving yards (88.7) per game.
Harris is averaging over nine catches and 150 yards per game.
