Ole Miss defensive end Cedric Johnson absolutely showed out at the 2024 NFL Combine weeks ago.

His much-anticipated follow-up act — at Ole Miss Pro Day on Wednesday — didn’t disappoint.

Johnson, who opted out of the Peach Bowl, is forgoing a final season of college eligibility to chase his next-level dreams. He was one of 17 Rebels who went through drills in front of nearly 50 NFL scouts and evaluators at the Manning Indoor Practice Fields.

Johnson didn’t participate in the shuttle and 3-cone drills in Indianapolis, Indiana. Indianapolis hosts the combine each year. He posted times of 4.3 (shuttle) and 7.47 (3-cone) at his Pro Day.

“I really wanted to show the scouts my combination of strength, speed quickness and twitch,” Johnson said afterwards. “I feel like a lot of them already know that, and the combine and Pro Day helped confirm things they’ve been seeing on tape.”

Ole Miss won a program-record 11 games, including a 38-25 win over Penn State in the Peach Bowl. Johnson started 10 of 12 games and finished with 40 total tackles.

He had 6.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss. Johnson was named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl and had a team-high 12 quarterback hurries.

“I’m not 100 percent sure yet where I’l be watching (the draft),” Johnson said. The draft runs from April 24-27. He added he hasn’t met with any teams yet and doesn’t have any scheduled.

“Next month will probably be just staying on point and conditioned but relaxing. Enjoy my time off unless I get some 30 visits to go to. Just staying patient.”

Johnson and three other Rebels (Daijahn Anthony, Dayton Wade and Deantre Prince) met the media following Ole Miss Pro Day. Here’s everything they had to say.
