LIVE! From the Manning Center: Jared Ivey, Lane Kiffin and Caden Davis
Ole Miss EDGE Jared Ivey is trying to treat Georgia Tech like any other game.
It isn’t, of course. He played in 20 games over two seasons with the Yellowjackets before transferring to Ole Miss prior to last season. He played in all 13 games (seven starts) on the year and tallied 4.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two fumble recovers and a forced fumble.
Ole Miss and Georgia Tech kick off Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT. The teams played last season, with the Rebels come out on top in a laugher, 42-0.
“You try to keep that on the back burner and just play like it’s a regular game, but obviously it’s some connections and old guys coaches, so it’ll be a good one,” Ivey said.
Ivey, head coach Lane Kiffin and kicker Caden Davis all met the media on Monday to open Week 3. Davis was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.
“It was super fun to get to play against all the guys and see them after the game last year,” Ivey continued. “It’ll be a good one.”

Ivey and the Rebels are 2-0 following a win over Tulane.
Ole Miss rallied from a 10-point, first-half deficit to pull off its first comeback win over a Top 25 opponent on the road since 2016. Ivey’s scoop-and-score fumble returned for a touchdown late in the festivities sealed the victory.
“It was great,” Ivey said. It was his first college touchdown. “Call it a thick-six, man. It was a great feeling. I haven’t walked across that solid white line in a long time. Very blessed.”
