LIVE! From the Manning Center: Texas A&M up next for Kiffin, Ole Miss football
Texas A&M opening-week starting quarterback Conner Weigman suffered a season-ending foot injury and gave way to Max Johnson in Week 5.
But the Aggie offense, at least schematically, hasn’t changed much, if at all. The No. 11-ranked Rebels 7-1 (4-1 SEC) are tied for second in the SEC West. Texas A&M is 5-3 (3-2).
“No, I think (Petrino) calls his plays and does a great job of it,” Lane Kiffin said Monday. Kiffin became the second-fastest Ole Miss head coach to 30 wins in program history in Ole Miss’ 33-7 win over Vanderbilt.
“Kind of has a pro-style passing game, but then gives you some problem, college elements to it, too. They have better collective personnel than a year ago, and a lot of those guys are a year older. They’re obviously way better schematically on offense.”

The Aggies, as a team, sits atop the SEC and ranks in the Top 10 nationally in total defense (269.3 yards per game), sacks (33.0) and tackles for loss (75.0)
Ole Miss and Texas A&M kick off at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN.
“Talent-wise, it’s got to be as good as anybody,” Kiffin said of the Aggie defense. “I certainly realize who’s coming next on the schedule, but these guys, when you look at height, weight and speed and the way they run, I don’t know how you collect much better.
“Congratulations to the group that collected these guys.”
Kiffin was joined for Monday’s media session by Ole Miss players Jared Ivey and Dayton Wade.
Here’s everything they had to say.
