Ole Miss is one of just three remaining unbeatens in college basketball through 13 games.

The Rebels are certainly battle-tested, including wins over, among others, fellow NCAA Tournament contenders NC State and Memphis. But Saturday at No. 5 Tennessee to open their SEC slate is their biggest challenge to date.

Ole Miss this week was ranked as the nation’s No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.

“It’s a tough league,” Ole Miss guard Allen Flanigan said Thursday. Flanigan is in his first and only season following an off-season transfer from Auburn.

“Every game is going to be a dog fight. You’ve got to bring it. The most important game is the next game on the schedule. That’s where all focus is. Tennessee is a great team and coached by a great coach. They’ve got a lot of discipline. It’s going to be tough.”

Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. CT on SEC Network.

“Everybody’s buying into the culture here,” Flanigan said. He’s one of 12 newcomers — either high school or transfer — on Ole Miss’ 16-man roster. “We’re listening to (Ole Miss head) coach (Chris) Beard and doing what’s asked of us. The main goal is just us getting better every day as a team.”

Flanigan and Beard on Thursday addressed the media to preview the matchup with the Volunteers.

Here’s everything they had to say.
