Ole Miss wins the big one

11/09/2024 06:18:42 PM

The Rebels dominated Georgia from the second possession on and it was not even close, winning 28-10 and putting itself right back in the middle the College Football Playoff picture.

Beck makes his first mistake

11/09/2024 05:33:59 PM

For about 80 percent of the game Beck has been clean with the ball but after that timeout he throws his first interception of the game. John Saunders, Jr. snags it and gets it to the Rebels 30.

7:22 left and the Vaught can feel it

Clock becoming a factor

11/09/2024 05:29:29 PM

Georgia is moving the ball down the field, with the help of some untimely penalties by Ole Miss, but has used up nearly half the 4th quarter and not yet scored a point.

Still 22-10 Rebels with 7:56 remaining

One more quarter to go

11/09/2024 05:12:57 PM

Rebels offense could not cash in the Georgia fumble and punted it away. The Bulldogs have the ball at their 21 as the third quarter comes to a close

The Ole Miss defense holding Beck and the offense to only three points in the third quarter was very big, to say the least.

22-10 Rebels

Georgia makes it first costly mistake

11/09/2024 05:05:19 PM

For a second straight possession Beck and the offense were moving the ball well and looking like adjustments have been made. Nate Frazier then fumbles the ball at the Rebels 28 and Walter Nolen lands on it for the recovery.

The Vaught is rocking right now

Drive of the season by Dart?

11/09/2024 04:55:38 PM

Ole Miss needed a response after that Georgia field goal and it got one of the best possessions by Dart this season. Juice Wells with 10 yard touchdown catch over a defender

He is getting the best pass protection from his offensive line and had time to pick a part the Georgia secondary. Cayden Lee with catches of 23 and 26 yards.

Georgia responds after the half

11/09/2024 04:48:20 PM

Beck and the Bulldogs offense looked more comfortable to start the second half, carving up the middle of the field with the pass game.

Defense holds on 3rd and Goal to force a field goal from Georgia, but a bigger loss potentially occurred. JJ Pegues got injured on 2nd down and was helped off the field. Trainers looked at his right neck/shoulder area.

16-10 Rebels

Ole Miss takes a lead into halftime

11/09/2024 04:15:43 PM

To say this Rebels defense is elite might be underselling it. Two sacks but they stuffed the run and put Carson Beck under pressing the entire first half.

So far Caden Davis is the MVP after the defense with his three made field goals. The defense spoiled Georgia’s chance to double dip and keep it a two-score game at halftime

16-7 Ole Miss

More field goals

11/09/2024 04:01:24 PM

Caden Davis is on fire today. He drills a 53-yard field goal that might have been good at 73.

Kiffin called a timeout and instead of going for it on 4th and medium he opted for the FGA and so far is taking the points when he can.

16-7 Ole Miss 3 minutes left in the half

A pass out to Bentley goes for a 7-yard loss, just as bad a sack, stalling the drive. But Caden Davis hits a 43-yard field goal in the rain.

That is 13 straight points for Ole Miss

13-7 12:12 left in the 2nd Qtr

Ole Miss leads after the first quarter

11/09/2024 03:29:27 PM

The Rebels defense is going to be a problem for this Georgia offense, who punts for a second straight time.

Offense is finally using Bentley as a pass threat and it is working as the Rebels are on the move as the first quarter ends.

10-7 Ole Miss

Rebels with 10 unanswered

11/09/2024 03:20:36 PM

The Ole Miss defense in its first true possession, forced Georgia to punt deep in its territory. The front seven looked dominant that drive.

Dart returned to the game and looked okay. He had protection and made some crisp passes to Dae’quan Wright and Caden Prieskorn. Bentley could not convert on the third and long.

No Dart, no problem

11/09/2024 03:06:58 PM

So… Austin Simmons can spin it.

Simmons goes 5-for-6 and 64 yards on what was a major response by the offense. Cayden Lee with a couple big catches, including on fourth down, for 32 total yards.

Bentley scores a nine-yard touchdown run.

New ball game, folks

Georgia strikes first after turnover

11/09/2024 02:57:39 PM

The Ole Miss defense tried to hold but the Bulldogs go for it on 4th and goal and score on a 2-yard run by Nate Frazier.

Dart went to the locker room. So it will be Austin Simmons on this next drive.

7-0 Georgia early 1st Qtr

Dart throws a pick, injured

11/09/2024 02:53:22 PM

The first drive on offense went about as bad as possible. Dart was sacked on second down and looked to injure his left leg/knee. The next play he throws an interception and the Bulldogs got the ball deep in Rebels territory.

As for Dart he was struggling to walk on his own and taken to the medical tent with assistance from trainers and Walker Howard.

Pregame Observations

11/09/2024 02:11:48 PM

Harris is currently not out on the field for warm ups, but he was also not out on the field pregame at Fayetteville last week, either.

Georgia won the toss and deferred. DK Metcalf did the Hotty Toddy chant
