Rebels threatening to begin the 4th Qtr

10/26/2024, 1:54:53 PM

Defense has forced Oklahoma to punt on its first three drives of the half and the offense is looking to find the end zone for the third time in as many drives.

Dart had a wide open Prieksorn but was hit and the pass was errant, causing Davis to nail a 42-yard field goal. Rebels up 26-14

Ole Miss outgained the Sooners 201 yards to 3 in the third quarter.

Offense stretches the lead out

10/26/2024, 1:39:04 PM

Suddenly the offense has strung together two straight positive drives and looked better. Dart is having a better time hitting his receivers this half. New dad Jordan Watkins nearly had a nice touchdown catch but was ruled down at the 1 for a 39 yard catch.

JJ Pegues muscled his way in for the touchdown and Ole Miss has a two-score lead, leading 23-14 late in the 3rd Qtr.

Dart also made one tremendous throw to Micah Davis that kept the drive going

Sooners take the lead at the break

10/26/2024, 12:49:21 PM

The Oklahoma offense cashes in on that failed 4th down play and goes 92 yards for the touchdown score. Jackson Arnold is not playing like the quarterback of the previous five games, he evades two sacks and finds Jacob Jordan for the 9-yard score

Rebels kneel to end the half, trailing 14-10

Jekyll and Hyde Offense

10/26/2024, 12:32:35 PM

The offense can look so good and then so bad sometimes in the same drives or for sure alternating drives. After getting the ball down to inside the Sooners 10 they cannot get a 4th and inches, turning it back over.

Rebels defense has gotten better the last couple drives and will need to again as Oklahoma has the chance to double dip.

Caden Davis offers a leg

10/26/2024, 12:31:56 PM

Ole Miss had its most successful drive since the opening touchdown possession. Dart looked crisp with his passes to Cayden Lee and to Jordan Watkins. The drive stalls though and instead of going for it on 4th and 3 Kiffin opts for the 35-yard field goal try, which Davis converts

10-7 Rebels mid 2nd Qtr

Mixed bag of a first quarter

10/26/2024, 12:14:30 PM

Ole Miss looked fantastic its opening drive, which is always scripted, but has looked worse than the Oklahoma offense has since. Missed passes by Dart and not much of a running game since the Parrish touchdown run.

Rebels and Sooners are tied at 7 heading to the 2nd quarter

Penalties continue to hurt

10/26/2024, 11:38:12 AM

Ole Miss defense was getting off the two different times in the Sooners third drive of the game but penalties negated them, each time. Chris ‘Pooh’ Paul was flagged for a horse collar tackle on Arnold and Pegues was flagged for a face mask on the next play.

Arnold hits tight end Bauer Sharp for the 11-yard touchdown pass and this game is tied up at 7. Rebels have 3 penalties today, all personal fouls.

Defense bends, again

10/26/2024, 11:21:34 AM

After hearing all week the Oklahoma offense is anemic and the numbers also backed it up, Jackson Arnold looked good and made some plays with his feet. A roughing the passer penalty on Ivey helped push the Sooners down the field

Venables opted to go for it on 4th and 1 at the 2 but Arnold’s pass falls incomplete in the end zone. Rebels hold, giving the offense a lengthy field for its second possession.

Ole Miss offense looks strong

10/26/2024, 11:09:03 AM

Oklahoma won the coin toss and deferred, giving the Rebels the option to shake the cobwebs off first. It works and there were some new wrinkles with back-to-back passes to Caden Prieskorn and Dae’Quan Wright to start the game.

Parrish cashes the drive in with a nine-run yard and Ole Miss is on the board first after a quick 6-play drive. 7-0 Rebels.

Harris is Out

10/26/2024, 10:39:40 AM

Ole Miss will be without Tre Harris, which is how the week was trending. Pete Thamel confirming the news.

Pregame Observation

10/26/2024, 10:35:44 AM

Cayden Lee, who was listed as probable, is suited up and out on the field for warm ups and should be a go. Tre Harris is the big question mark and was listed as a ‘game-time decision’ in Saturday’s final availability report, but he is not out there for warm ups, currently.
