Ole Miss 40, Wake Forest 6 4th Qtr 6:27

Wake Forest fumbles to start their drive and the Rebels recover. Dart wastes no time and hits Juice Wells for the 31-yard TD catch. Was a great one-handed snag.

The bigger news is that Jared Ivey suffered an injury and was in the tent waiting for a cart that arrived after the made field goal. He was taken to the locker room. He was not putting weight on one foot.

Ole Miss kicked a field goal in what has been an odd second half.

END OF THE 3RD QUARTER: OLE MISS 30, WAKE FOREST 6

Ole Miss 30, Wake Forest 6 3rd Qtr 3:39

Before the Dart run this seond half was becoming kind of boring with the penalties.

There are angry runs and then there are what Jaxson Dart just did. On third and goal from the 13 he took it himself up the middle, bowled over a couple Deacon defenders and fell into the endzone.

Rebels defense gets a big stand on a 4th and Goal at the 3 when Bachmeier’s pass sails out the back of the endzone. Despite the penalties no damage done.

More penalties for the Rebels as a defensive pass interference and a hands to the face call kept Wake Forest’s offense on the field two separate times. Deacons are inside the Ole Miss 10

Wake Forest punts and then Dart throws his first interception of the season. He was scrambling to the sideline and tried to find Juice Wells, who slipped and the pass was picked off at the Rebels 45.

FIRST HALF STATS

  • Jaxson Dart: 16-21, 258 yards, 1 TD (6 carries, 19 yards)
  • Henry Parrish, Jr. : 14 carries, 85 yards, 2 TDs
  • Tre Harris: 7 catches, 83 yards

HALFTIME: OLE MISS 23, WAKE FOREST 6

The closing drives to the first kind of water logged to a stand still with a handful of penalties and long drives that netted six total points.

Deacons get their second field goal of the night, this one from 37 yards out.

Ole Miss 23, Wake Forest 3 2nd Qtr 4:44

What might be the longest drive of the season for the Rebels ended with three points. After going 15 plays Dart is stopped short at the goal line and he is flagged for taking his helmet off. Davis then connected on a 33-yard field goal try.

Fraser Masin asked to warm up and make his first punt of the night after Dart gets sacked on third and long. Watkins nearly had another long catch but couldn’t haul it in the play before the sack.

END OF THE FIRST QUARTER: OLE MISS 20, WAKE FOREST 3

Rebels have a third and short coming up to start the second quarter.

Dart threw for nearly 200 yards in the first 15 minutes of the game. Parrish has 63 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.

Ole Miss 20, Wake Forest 3 1st Qtr 1:55

Parrish with his second touchdown run of more than 20 yards on the night. This one from 22 yards out and was a nice open lane down the middle of the field. The score came off an audible, so Charlie Weis and Kiffin saw something and it worked.

The only that is going to slow down the Rebels is themselves. The offense is clicking and doing whatever it wants and the defense is making the stops needed.

Ole Miss 14, Wake Forest 3 1st Qtr 4:48

Well, Jordan Watkins looks healthy.

Rebels wasted no time and needed only two plays to get back on the scoreboard. Dart finds Watkins wide open for the 75-yard touchdown strike.

Ole Miss 7, Wake Forest 3 1st Qtr 5:22

The turnover leads to points but the Deacons are held to a 42-yard field goal after moving the ball successfully on its second possession.

Chris “Pooh” Paul, Jr. laid a good hit on Bachmeier that caused an errant pass on third down.

First turnover of the season for Ole Miss as the snap goes a little high on Dart who loses it in the backfield and Wake takes over on its 21.

First drive for the defense ends with Pegues and Ivey sacking Deacon quarterback Hank Bachmeier and force the first punt of the night.

A couple positive plays for the Deacons on offense but the Rebels defensive line does it was does best.

Ole Miss 7, Wake Forest 0 1st Qtr 13:37.

Rebels needed five plays and just 83 seconds to score. Henry Parrish with the 25-yard run. The passing game was there as well with Dart taking whatever he wanted. Cayden Lee, Harris with catches.

Same starting offensive line as the first two games. Scott will be coming off the bench.

Ole Miss won the toss and will get the ball first

Gerquan Scott is suited up and on the field for warm ups. Walter Nolen is also suited up and walking around as is Akelo Stone. All look good.

PREGAME

First road trip of the season for No. 5 Ole Miss as it travels to Winston-Salem to take on Wake Forest. The lone Power 4 non-conference matchup of the season for the Rebels (2-0) takes place in enemy territory.

Ole Miss should be close to being the healthiest it has been all season by getting at least one offensive lineman back, according to Lane Kiffin. The Rebels fifth-year head coach would not elaborate on which one but one would think Jeremy James is eliminated from that as he is less than two weeks from a fractured hand. This leaves either Caleb Warren or Gerquan Scott as returning, something to keep an eye on during pre game warm ups.

Two of the fastest offenses in the country will be squaring off inside Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium but Ole Miss has the advantage in key areas.

Today’s captains: Chris Paul, Jr; TJ Dottery and Tre Harris
