Marjory Stoneman Douglas (Fla.) outfielder Roman Anthony is well-known for his power at the plate. One Perfect Game scout said “ball sounds different off his bat” and that he has “big power potential”. That one scout went on to also say he “always seems to hit better against better pitching”.

Well, that trend continued on Tuesday when the 6-foot-3, 195 pound Perfect 10 prospect did this.

The 2021 Perfect Game All-American had himself an evening at the dish Tuesday night, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two home runs against Florida powerhouse, Westminster Christian. Through 12 games as a senior, he is hitting .500 with 15 runs batted in, three home runs and two doubles, helping Stoneman Douglas to a 12-2 start to the spring season. They’re also ranked 5th in the country by Perfect Game.

As a junior, Anthony was a part of a 28-2 squad that won the Florida Class 7A state championship against Spruce Creek, their first state championship since 2016, and challenged for a national championship. Anthony and his peers finished the year ranked 2nd in the country behind Alfred M. Barbe (La.) out of Lake Charles.

Anthony’s power has long been on display before this. Last summer in the 2021 High School All-American Game, he tattooed a pitch 450 feet into the Denver, Colorado sky.

Before that game at Perfect Game’s national showcase, scouts oozed over his potential:

Roman Anthony is a 2022 OF with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from North Palm Beach, FL who attends Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout, has present strength throughout. Fast-twitch, posted a 6.52 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball and shows athleticism in actions on the approach, deliberate actions, utilizes a crow hop into release, fields the ball out front and works into a shorter arm action through the back, shows one-hop accuracy to intended base with throws. Left-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set at the plate; tight turn moving into swing, shows quickness and above average bat speed through the zone. Shows a handle for the barrel, fluidity to path, comes out of coil well into swing and creates separation. Present power off of the barrel and projects for plenty more, generates leverage out front with solid carry to the pull side already. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Ole Miss. Selected for the 2021 Perfect Game All-American Classic.

Simply stated, the guy has plenty of juice and swagger to go along with his sweet swing and light tower power.

The talented outfielder is a part of a 2022 signing class that includes fellow Perfect 10 prospects Jackson Ferris, Jordan Vera and Mason Morris.

Now, all Ole Miss has to do is get them to campus.
