LOOK: Former Ole Miss star and Sacramento Kings guard Terence Davis gets high school jersey retired
Former Ole Miss Rebel basketball player and current Sacramento Kings guard Terence Davis took a break from the NBA season to return to his hometown of Southaven, Miss., to attend a high school basketball game two weeks ago.
And now Davis is being honored by his alma mater.
The former Ole Miss star played in 121 career games during four seasons in Oxford (2015-19), finishing his career seventh in school history in three-point field goals, 10th in steals and 12th in points scored. Selected as a Second Team All-SEC as a senior, Davis averaged 15.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and shot 44 percent from the floor and 37 percent from behind the three-point arc.
The Mississippi prospect was known for his outstanding athleticism and tenacious rebounding ability. But he really made a name for himself with his ability to put people on a poster.
After leaving high school and starring for the in-state Rebels, the former undrafted free agent made a name for himself in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors early in his career.
Most consider Davis’ commitment to bettering himself on the defensive end being the turning point in his career, finding a role with the Raptors as a three-and-D guy. The former Rebel was a key cog for two seasons in Toronto, coming off the bench and providing excellent on-ball defense and efficient scoring from three-point range.
