The Super Bowl has been played 58 times in NFL history.
Ole Miss Rebels (36, to be exact) have appeared in 23 of them.
The Rebels don’t have a representative in Super Bowl LVIII — which, on Sunday, pits the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff on Sunday is 5:30 p.m. CT on CBS.
But Ole Miss hasn’t been forgotten during what is annually football’s biggest week. Legendary Rebel quarterback Eli Manning, the only Rebel to win a Super Bowl MVP (twice!), served as one of the coaches in the Pro Bowl Games. Patrick Willis, on Thursday, became just the third Rebel inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Rebels have shown up in each of the last three Super Bowls. AJ Brown, arguably the greatest wide receiver in Ole Miss history, starred for the Philadelphia Eagles last season. Fan favorite Mike Hilton started for the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. Hilton, a defensive back, was a Chucky Mullins Award winner as a Rebel.

Six Rebels appeared in two Super Bowls: Allen Brown, Andrew Townsend, Willie Green, Nate Wayne, Manning and Brandon Bolden. Willis went with the 49ers in their last trip, back in Super Bowl XLVII. Bolden (3) has the most of all Rebels.
