LOOK: Ole Miss tight end Michael Trigg dunks over Lane Kiffin's son
On Sunday after wrapping up week two of spring practice at Ole Miss, USC transfer tight end Michael Trigg was seen doing some active recovery with Lane Kiffin and his son, Knox.
The 6-foot-3, 240 pound former two-sport star from Carrollwood Day (Fla.) made this dunk look easy but that’s something he was accustomed to doing in high school as a former star in Florida where he averaged over 20 points per game as a sophomore and junior before focusing on football.
And, yes, this is something Trigg has done before.
Kiffin touched on the athletic prowess and potential of Trigg in an interview last week. The Rebels’ head coach was pretty cut and dry about what he thought about his prized tight end transfer and what he expects in 2022.
“I don’t, like, tell him this, because everybody says this and has probably told him this forever,” Kiffin started. “His potential’s unbelievable. His catching radius and balance and body control, they don’t make many like that in the world. He’s done great things already.”
“And it is crazy, like I told the staff, because we just kind of think of the portal as like free agency like, those are the older ones,” Kiffin continued. “This guy’s in his second semester of college, which is crazy to think about when you see his skillset. So, we’re obviously really excited about him.”
At USC in 2021, Trigg played in just four games, totaling seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown before a knee injury sidelined him.

On3’s Nikki Chavanelle wrote about Trigg’s other viral moment when he got to Los Angeles and turned heads in practice, prompting then-head coach Clay Helton to refer to Trigg as a “creature”.
Ole Miss’ staff and their fans hope to see a lot more of this this fall as they look to replace a ton of receiving production with the departures their three-leading pass-catchers from a year ago.
