LOOK: Sean Pedulla and rest of Ole Miss men’s basketball getting after it this summer

Sean Pedulla and the rest of Chris Beard’s second Ole Miss men’s basketball team are deep-off in their off-season program.
Pedulla is one of 10 new Rebels for 2024-25. He transferred in from Virginia Tech.
Ole Miss had the nation’s No. 16 portal class, according to On3. Pedulla was joined by Ja’Von Benson (Hampton), Davon Barnes (Sam Houston State), Dre Davis (Seton Hall), Malik Dia (Belmont) and Mikeal Brown-Jones (UNC-Greensboro).
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Pedulla was an All-ACC guard for the Hokies. He played north of 100 games in three seasons and totaled over 1,200 points and 300 assists. Pedulla had a team-high 16.4 points a year ago.
“We’re lucky to have him,” Ole Miss assistant coach Wes Flanigan previously said of Pedulla. “Last season down the stretch we only had one ball-handler, so we wanted to get a little more depth there with a guy that can make some decisions and other guys better.
“I’m excited for him, but I’m excited for Juju (Murray), because he can also play off the ball some and score the ball for us. We got better in our backcourt this off-season. When you’re trying to win championships, it starts with your back-court play.”

Veterans Matthew Murrell and Jaemyn Brakefield are the most notable of Ole Miss’ six returning players. Murrell tested the NBA waters. He was All-SEC last season as the Rebels’ leading scorer. Brakefield’s one of 43 Rebels in program history to score 1,000 or more points.
“My relationship with coach Beard developed quickly,” Pedulla told the Ole Miss Spirit’s Chuck Rounsaville of his transfer decision. “He showed me he could do the best job in helping me reach my dream of playing in the NBA.
“I’ll be at the point mostly, but I’ll play off the ball when JuJu (Murray) or some of the other ball-handlers are in the game.”
