LOOK: Summer grind continues for Ayden Williams, Ole Miss football
Ole Miss football is getting closer.
The Rebels this week continued to push through their off-season strength and conditioning program. Ole Miss will open fall camp practices the first week of August and kick off the 2023 season against Mercer September 2 at 1 p.m. CT.
The Rebels feature a number of new faces. They had the second-most transfers out of any Power 5 school, but they’ve brought in some 20 transfers since the season ended. Thirteen came on defense.
Their handful of offensive additions include UTSA transfer wide receiver Zakhari Franklin. Franklin is currently awaiting academic clearance from the NCAA. Ole Miss expects him for the second summer term. The last day to register or add classes is July 3.
However, today we focus on the players already on campus.
The Rebels were 8-5 last season and made the postseason for the third straight year. However, they lost five of their last six.

Their off-season haul included a pair of quarterbacks in Spencer Sanders from Oklahoma State and Walker Howard from LSU. But incumbent starter Jaxson Dart is back, and he’s so far maintained his grip on the starting job, even if he had to miss the Manning Passing Academy last week due to a minor knee tweak.
“It’ll be interesting. A lot of good options at quarterback,” all-time Ole Miss great quarterback Eli Manning said of the QB race, in a recent, on-site interview with the Spirit’s Jake Thompson at the MPA.
“That’s great. I think that’s what you want. You want great competition at the quarterback job. It will probably help Jaxson and elevate his focus and his commitment and get him playing well.”
Let’s take a closer look at the Rebels’ strength and conditioning work this week, in pictures provided by Ole Miss Athletics.
