LOOK: This week in Ole Miss football, in pictures
A lot went down this week in Ole Miss football, mostly off the field.
The Rebels are currently riding a recruiting hot streak, having secured a commitment from three-star 2024 offensive lineman Joseph Cryer last Friday. They could be on the verge of scooping up three-star tight end Dillon Hipp, too, and they’re seemingly in pole position to flip now-former Tennessee commitment and in-state four-star wide receiver JJ Harrell.
But that’s not all.
The current Rebels, who are looking to rebound from an 8-5 finish last season, are keeping busy this summer with strength and conditioning under weight-room leader Nick Savage. Among them is a host of new faces, including a good chunk from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Ole Miss was second only to Colorado in all of college football in overall roster turnover. The Rebels had around 60 players on scholarship for the Texas Bowl. Some 30 transferred out, replaced by 20 transfers, 13 of which are defensive players.
The most-recent addition was FAU safety Teja Young. Young committed to Ole Miss on Tuesday. He chose the Rebels over Florida State and North Carolina.

Young previously played under now-fourth-year Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin at FAU. He was a co-captain for the Owls last season and had 47 tackles, seven passes defended and two interceptions.
Young posted 142 tackles and seven interceptions over 31 games and his last three seasons. He’s the FAU school-record-holder for interceptions returned for a touchdown.
If your head is spinning, not to worry.
