Louisville transfer QB Pierce Clarkson signs with Ole Miss
Louisville transfer quarterback Pierce Clarkson signed with Ole Miss out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 learned on Monday.
Clarkson, the son of renowned quarterbacks coach Steve Clarkson, redshirted during his true freshman season in 2023. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
In two seasons at Louisville, Clarkson appeared in three games. He completed 4-of-6 passes for 18 yards. He also carried five times for nine yards.
With Pierce Clarkson, Ole Miss moved up to the No. 2 overall transfer portal class in the country.
With Jaxson Dart expected to head to the NFL Draft at least as of now, Austin Simmons is expected to take over at quarterback for the Rebels. Lane Kiffin & Co. wanted to grab a good insurance policy and found that in the former highly-touted signal caller.

As a member of the Class of 2023, Pierce Clarkson was a four-star recruit out of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 31 overall prospect in the state, the No. 26 quarterback in the class and the No. 395 overall prospect in the class.
