LSU defensive back transfer Sage Ryan committed to Ole Miss while on his visit to Oxford on Friday, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported.

Ole Miss already has commitments from Arkansas transfer defensive back Jaylon Braxton and Auburn transfer defensive back Antonio Kite. Now, Ryan joins that group to form a trio.

Ryan is a redshirt junior who has been a multi-year contributor for the Tigers. He played in a ton of games at multiple positions for the program and could be a good depth piece for the Rebels. LSU head coach Brian Kelly spoke about his versatility before the season.

“We’re cross-training him,” Kelly said. “We wanted the entire spring to be safety and now, we’re going to be getting that cross-training. We feel like he’ll become that one player that can play both positions for us.”

Ryan is coming off his most productive season. In 2024, Ryan tallied 42 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, three forced fumbles, an interception and six passes defended.

In total, he has played in 43 career games with 21 starts. Ryan’s career totals are 113 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, five forced fumbles, an interception and 14 passes defended.

Ryan played high school football at Lafayette Christian Academy (LA) where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 38 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as the the No. 3 safety in the class and the No. 2 player out of Louisiana.
