LSU transfer, former 5-star Da'Shawn Womack commits to Ole Miss
Ole Miss landed a commitment from former five-star edge rusher and LSU transfer Da’Shawn Womack, who signed with the Rebels on his official visit this week, On3 has learned.
Womack entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday after two seasons with the Tigers after he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett earlier this month he’d do so. Tennessee was a finalist as well.
Ole Miss defensive line coach Randall Joyner worked quickly with Womack in the portal to get the visit lined up and seal the deal.
Womack is looking for a fresh start after seeing his role decrease in 2024 after a freshman season that had him on pace to be a big contributor this season. He’ll have three years to play two seasons at his next stop.

Womack played in all 12 games and had 13 total tackles as a freshman. He appeared in eight games this season.

According to our own Ben Garrett, Womack isn’t the only Tiger Ole Miss has eyes for. Ole Miss has interest in LSU wide receiver Shelton Sampson, Jr.
He was a four-star recruit in 2023 ranked as the No. 80 overall recruit in the country. Sampson, Jr., played three games and redshirted as a freshman. He appeared in eight games with a one start as a sophomore.
