Ole Miss landed a commitment from former Big Ten offensive lineman and Maryland transfer Terez Davis, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Saturday. Davis, who started two games at left tackle in 2024, visited Oxford earlier this week.

Davis is coming off a season that he started as a true freshman, but was looking for greener pastures. Ole Miss was the first and only program to host him for an official visit.

Virginia Tech, Penn State and others were talking with him about visits. Davis, who played in 10 games this fall, entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Wednesday.

Davis faced a tough decision, but with four years to play three seasons, he’s now on the move to play for the Rebels.

“I’ve made lifelong friendships, memories and learned valuable lessons from this leadership. After a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to enter my name in the NCAA Transfer portal next week,” Davis posted on X on Saturday. “This decision was not made lightly but I believe it is the best step for my future as a student athlete. I’m excited for what’s next and looking forward to the opportunities ahead. Recruitment is open.”

Now, Davis looks to step into an offensive line that needed a punch of competition after a spring where there were a handful of players banged up.

“Us as a unit, I feel like we’ve been great,” UAB transfer Delano Townsend said after practice on Thursday. “We have a lot of new guys in the room. We handled meshing together well and making sure we’re just all on the same page.

“(The offense) is coming together great with as many new guys as we have. Austin (Simmons) makes sure we do a good job just being on the same page as a unit and making sure we all have the same goal in mind.”

Davis is the son of former NBA standout Ricky Davis, who played 12 years in the NBA for multiple teams.
