Once again the Ole Miss men’s basketball team might be down a player when it returns to action on Wednesday.

Hosting Texas and looking to end its three-game losing streak Ole Miss could be without starting guard Matthew Murrell.

The Rebels senior was listed as “Questionable” on the initial availability report the Southeastern Conference released on Tuesday night. This is the second game in a row that Murrell has been listed on the report.

Ahead of the game at Missouri this past Saturday Murrell was also on the list but on the game day report he was left off and started against the Tigers. He finished with 12 points, six rebounds and two assists.

Dre Davis missed Saturday’s game in Columbia but on Tuesday he was not listed on the availability report.

On the season Murrell is averaging 11.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He has missed four of the 20 games No. 23 Ole Miss (15-5, 4-3 SEC) has played this year due to different injuries.

In the game prior against Texas A&M Murrell left the game briefly after Malik Dia collided into him on a rebound attempt, causing Murrell to roll his ankle.

The Longhorns are also dealing with a couple banged up players. Guard Chendall Weaver and forward Arthur Kaluma have been out with nagging injuries but are heading different directions in terms or returning to the court.

Kaluma is listed as “Probable” after missing last weekend’s game against Texas A&M and dealing with a calf injury. He is the second-leading scorer for Texas, averaging 13.8 points per game along with 8.2 rebounds.

Weaver is will miss Wednesday’s game against Ole Miss being listed as “Out” on Tuesday’s report. He has been dealing with a hip flexor he suffered against Auburn earlier this month. Weaver was averaging 6.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
