Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco named National Coach of the Year by Collegiate Baseball
STAFF AND WIRE | Ole Miss head baseball coach Mike Bianco has been named the National Coach of the Year by Collegaite Baseball Newspaper, announced Tuesday.
It is the second time in three years that the Rebel skipper has received the honor from Collegiate Baseball. He was also named coach of the year following the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.
The news comes just days after Bianco helped Ole Miss captured the first national championship in program history with a 4-2 win over No. 4 Oklahoma on Sunday.
Ole Miss was at one point this season sitting near the bottom of the SEC standings.
The Rebels completed a magical run through the postseason and finished on top after being the last team included in the field of 64 for the NCAA Tournament.

Bianco just completed his 22nd year at the helm of Ole Miss baseball.
He’s coached the Rebels to four straight 40-win seasons. Ole Miss is just one of four programs in the nation to do so.
Bianco has coached the Rebels to 18 NCAA Tournament appearances during his run in Oxford, and among the accomplishments are eight Super Regional appearances and a pair of trips to the College World Series.
