Mississippi State ultimately flips 4-star LB Tyler Lockhart back from Ole Miss
Winona (Miss.) linebacker Tyler Lockhart announced Wednesday he was flipping his commitment from Mississippi State to Ole Miss. That’s not what happened though as the Egg Bowl rivalry added another insane story to its recruiting history.
Sources confirm to Ole Miss Spirit that Lockhart indeed is now a signee of Mississippi State (not shocking as State announced his signing Wednesday late afternoon), but the lack of clarity as to why is now out of the way. Ole Miss announced him, but instead deleted all content around Lockhart’s signing.
With Lockhart out of the class, it created some wild storylines to follow at the end of the first day of the early signing period.
Ole Miss signed two other in-state linebackers in Jarcoby Hopson and Bryson Walters. As a junior, Tyler Lockhart helped Winona to its first MHSAA 3A state title. He finished with over 100 tackles, 28 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.
