Highly-touted Ohio State transfer forward Cotie McMahon has committed to Ole Miss, per On3’s Talia Goodman on Thursday. The 6-0 junior averaged 16.5 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game this season.

Ole Miss coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin beat out the likes of Tennessee, LSU and others for McMahon. The Rebels are looking to build on a Sweet 16 run this season.

“When I look at this season, no one wanted us here, no one thought we would be here, and we’re still here, and we got this far, and unfortunately, we ran into a tough team tonight and did not prevail. But at the end of the day, we will continue to build,” McPhee-McCuin said after Ole Miss lost to UCLA. “This is our second Sweet 16 in two years. If I’m not mistaken, this is UCLA’s third in a row. Third time’s a charm. We’ll be back again and be able to move forward.”

Ole Miss has already made a splash in the transfer portal, landing Georgia Tech transfer Tianna ThompsonVirginia’s Latasha LattimoreUCF’s Kaitlin Peterson and Wichita State’s Jayla Murray.
