The 2024 Major League Baseball draft will take place July 14–16 in Fort Worth, Tex. Ole Miss and head coach Mike Bianco signed the 7th-ranked recruiting class, per Perfect Game. The Rebels landed four Top 100 prospects and 17 total members of the 2024 class.

But, as always, the MLB Draft can shatter dreams. And this year is no exception.

On this episode of “The Flagship”, presented by College Corner, our pal Troy Sutherland is back to preview next month’s event. Perfect Game’s mid-south national scouting coordinator tells you what to keep an eye on, who to look forward to playing in Oxford and looks ahead to 2025.

Ole Miss landed its first transfer portal commit this week.

BYU catcher Collin Reuter committed to the Rebels Sunday. The 6-foot-3 backstop is originally from Olive Branch, Miss., and played his high school ball at Magnolia Heights.

The Honorable Mention All-Big 12 selection hit .265 with 10 home runs, 28 walks, eight doubles and posted an .860 OPS. In conference, though, Reuter hit .311 BA with eight home runs and an impressive 1.054 OPS.

Ole Miss catcher Eli Berch entered the transfer portal earlier this month. Aside from Reuter, the only catcher on Bianco’s roster is Campbell Smithwick.
