Louisville outfielder Isaac Humphrey to transfer to Ole Miss
Ole Miss added a commitment from New Orleans outfielder Mitchell Sanford Friday. Now, Mike Bianco and Co., have added another in Louisville outfielder Isaac Humphrey. The Owensboro (Ky.) prospect is an experienced addition, playing in 168 games in three years with the Cardinals. He is Ole Miss’ fourth portal commit this cycle, joining New Orleans’ Mitchell Sanford, Illinois’ Ryan Moerman and Illinois State’s Luke Cheng.
In 2024, Humphrey hit .311 and finished with 14 doubles, 10 home runs and 40 runs batted in. He slugged .563 and posted a .417 on-base percentage. The 6-foot-3, 210 pound prospect did not play in 2021 but burst onto the scene in 2022. Humphrey hit .328 and smacked 15 doubles, a triple and five home runs. Also drove in 38 runs, scored 44 and stole 11 bases.
Humphrey lettered five years in baseball and four years in basketball at Owensboro. He was the Owensboro Times 2019 Player of the Year and rated the No. 3 outfielder and No. 15 overall prospect in Kentucky by Perfect Game.
Isaac Humphrey entered the portal at conclusion of Louisville’s season.
The Cardinals did not make the NCAA Tournament in 2024, finishing just 32-24 overall and 16-14 in the ACC. Like Louisville, Ole Miss struggled as well and also did not play in the postseason. Humphrey will be counted on to restore order in Oxford. Ole Miss’ best offensive player, Andrew Fischer, entered the portal and leave the Rebels in search of some offense.
