The 2025 Ole Miss baseball season came to a close and the Rebels are actively looking in the transfer portal for more talent. So far, Mike Bianco’s staff has assembled seven new commitments from the portal.

After getting another 40-win season and finishing eight places higher in the Southeastern Conference standings than predicted by league coaches, the Rebels bowed out of the NCAA Tournament with a sour taste.

Instead Ole Miss turns to the Summer and that means transfer portal season. Not advancing to Omaha meant Bianco and his staff got to work on rebuilding yet another roster. While a player like Luke Hill likely won’t return due to the MLB draft, there are some the Rebels can hope to bring back.

“The guys we would love to get back and that we’re working hard to try to get back are [Will] Furniss, [Judd] Utermark, [Austin] Fawley,” Ole Miss hitting coach Mike Clement said this month. “Those guys are important to try to get back. Obviously all had great years. Obviously the big one is Hunter Elliott. Tweet at him, take him out to dinner. He would certainly be the best portal piece, not portal piece, but he would be the best piece to get back that you could possibly.

Going older was the plan last Summer and Bianco succeeded with plenty of veteran players from other schools. Look for more of that approach as well as filling needs across the field.

Ole Miss has started to heat up with transfer portal recruiting.
