Ole Miss basketball announces match ups for SEC/ACC Challenge
The non-conference portion of the Ole Miss men’s and women’s basketball schedules for the 2023-24 seasons continue to fill out as the match ups for the first SEC/ACC Challenge were announced this week.
On Wednesday both league offices revealed the opponents for their respective teams and Ole Miss basketball program learned its two opponents for this November.
The three-day event will take place November 28-30 with men’s games being played on the 28th and 29th and the women’s games on the 29th and 30th.
A Sweet 16 rematch from this past NCAA Women’s Tournament is occurring with the Ole Miss women hosting Louisville on November 29 at 8:15 p.m. CT. The meeting will be only the second time for both programs and the Cardinals will be the first ACC team to play in Oxford since 2006.
After dominant wins over Gonzaga and No. 1 seed Standford the Rebels took on Louisville in Seattle for a berth into the Elite 8. The Cardinals ended Ole Miss’ best postseason run in 16 years with a 72-62 victory.
This is the second known non-conference opponent on the Ole Miss women’s schedule this season. The Rebels are also hosting Oklahoma earlier in November to complete a home-and-home series that started last year.

The SEC also revealed the conference opponents for all its women’s teams on Wednesday.
The Ole Miss women’s team will get an early look at how this year’s team will be with a trip to Italy in July.

For the Ole Miss men’s program its first non-conference opponent of the season is known.
First year head coach Chris Beard is still working on revealing his first full schedule at Ole Miss but one team on the slate is North Carolina State.
This will be the third meeting between the Rebels and N.C. State with the Wolfpack holding a 2-0 edge in the series. The most recent meeting was during the 2000 NIT.
The Rebels will host the Wolfpack on November 28 at 8 p.m. CT in the opening day of the ACC/SEC Challenge. North Carolina State reached the NCAA Tournament last season but lost to Creighton in the opening round.
Earlier this week the Ole Miss men’s team learned its full slate of SEC opponents for this season.
All TV designations for the SEC/ACC Challenge games will be announced at a later date.
