Ole Miss has reached out to Freed-Hardeman guard Quan Lax
The college basketball NCAA Transfer Portal window closed late Wednesday night. But, Ole Miss and head coach Chris Beard are still looking to add to its Top 10 class. On Thursday, The Portal Report, via a source, is reporting the Rebels have reached out to Freed-Hardeman point guard Quan Lax.
In 2023-2024, the Bolivar Central (Tenn.) prospect was part of an NAIA national championship program and was named First Team All-American. He averaged 13.4 points, 3.7 assists, 2.6 boards and shot 37 percent from three-point range last season.
As a freshman, Lax led the team with 85 assists while scoring at a 10.5 points per game clip.
Quan Lax was a decorated high school player from the Volunteer State.
He capped off his career at Bolivar Central eclipsing the 1,000-point mark and helping his team to a Division I Class AA state championship. Lax has two years of eligibility left, making the Dean’s List at Freed-Hardeman each semester.

Last season was the program’s first ever national championship. Freed defeated Langston (Okla.), 71-67, with Lax leading the way for the Lions with 15 points. His head coach, Drew Stutts, talked about the importance of his arrival with Bolivar Bulletin Time News last month.
“Quan has been such a leader and competitor since arriving at FHU,” said Stutts. “He is a hard worker and a great teammate. I’m so proud of him. No one deserves this recognition more than he does.”
