Ole Miss basketball has put the finishing touches on its 2023-24 schedule.

Little was left for the Rebels, but a long and arduous process that was complicated by a coaching change in March finally came to a close on Monday, as Ole Miss set game times for five remaining non-conference games.

Ole Miss opens the Chris Beard era November 6 against Alabama State. Tipoff has now been set for 7 p.m. CT. Same for Eastern Washington (November 10) and Detroit Mercy (7 p.m.), before the Rebels host Sam Houston State for their throwback game in Tad Smith Coliseum November 17 at 8 p.m. CT.

Mount St. Mary’s on December 5 has been locked in for a 7 p.m. tip, too, and Ole Miss will welcome Troy at 6 pm.. CT on December 19. Each game will be broadcasted on SEC Network+.

Ole Miss’ full schedule was released by the SEC earlier last month. The Rebels released their full non-conference slate in late-August.

“We feel okay about it,” Beard previously said of the schedule. Square Jam, the unofficial tipoff of each season, is Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT on the historic Oxford Square.

“We feel good. A lot of work went into it. All our coaches contributed to it in some way. We’re playing a lot of good teams. We have three championship teams on our (schedule) this year (and) three teams that won their conference. We have six or seven 20-win teams (and) a lot of postseason teams.

“We’re playing in true road environments, and we’re playing neutral-site, kind of NCAA-Tournament-type environments. We worked really hard to have some home games highlighted by a Memphis or a N.C. State.”

Ole Miss opens SEC play January 6 at Tennessee at 5 p.m. CT.

The game will also hire on the SEC Network, as will Florida in Oxford January 10 at 8 p.m. CT. Ole Miss has 12 league games on the SEC Network. Another (at Kentucky) will air on ESPN. Two others are slated for ESPN2 and ESPNU.

Ole Miss closes out the regular season March 9 against Texas A&M, in what will be its only CBS game. Tipoff is 1 p.m. CT.

“We’re going to some pretty cool places for our guys,” Beard said. “Whether it’s Orlando, Philadelphia or San Antonio. A lot of challenges in our schedule.

“The biggest objective is to get ready for SEC play. There’s some things I think we’d like to do with our future schedules, but I think this year with the time allotted and the situation we found ourselves in, I think we put together a very competitive schedule.”
