Ole Miss basketball signees Malique Ewin and TJ Caldwell ranked in On3 Top 150
On3 Sports released their updated 2022 Top 150 on Monday.
This rankings release is the second-to-last update in the 2022 cycle. This update is heavily impacted by senior season evaluations prior to the end-of-season all-star games.
This update is also an expansion from the On3 Top 100 to the On3 Top 150. On3 heavily prioritizes the senior season in our evaluation process, as it has proven to be among the more predictive evaluation points over the course of a high school prospect’s development.

Two Ole Miss signees were among the 150 prospects honored. Berkmar (Ga.) center Malique Ewin and Waxahachie Faith Family Academy (Tex.) shooting guard TJ Caldwell both were ranked 76th and 108th respectively by On3 basketball recruiting insiders. The two four-stars have seen their stock rise considerably after signing with the Rebels and continue to put on a show during their senior seasons.
Ewin impressed On3 Sports’ social media national recruiting expert Joe Tipton a few months ago at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.

“Future Ole Miss big man Malique Ewin also impressed me, with the time we saw him in the game. Ewin only played 16 minutes, due to early foul trouble. However, Ewin was very efficient, a perfect 6-of-6 from the field, totaling 12 points in limited action. He also showed off some skilled footwork.”
Ewin and his Berkmar teammates are currently 22-4 on the year and undefeated in Georgia Class 7A Region 7 play (13-0). The 6-foot-10 center is working towards avenging last season’s title game loss to Milton (Ga.).
Caldwell has made a name for himself on social media for his explosive athleticism. The Texas prospect has helped Waxahachie Faith Family Academy (Tex.) to a 29-4 record and a perfect 10-0 record in 4A Region II District 10. The 6-foot-4 guard has been an integral part of the program’s current 10-game win streak after a narrow loss to Bishop Gorman (Nev.) in December.
Both will be counted on to at least provide some depth to a 2022-2023 roster which will be without Tye Fagan and Jarkel Joiner in the backcourt and Nysier Brooks will also be gone after exhausting his eligibility as a graduate student.
