Ole Miss CB Trey Amos selected by the Washington Commanders in 2025 NFL Draft

Ole Miss another player off the board in this year’s NFL Draft with cornerback Trey Amos hearing his name called.
Amos was taken by the Washington Commanders in the second round as the 61st overall pick. He is one of several Rebels on last season’s defense that should be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
He is the second Ole Miss defensive player to be taken and fourth Rebel overall to be drafted this year. Tre Harris was selected in the second round six picks earlier than Amos.
Transferring to Ole Miss after a season at Alabama, Amos became a integral part of the secondary. He finished with a team high 13 pass breakups and tied for team-leading three interceptions. Amos finished fifth on the team in tackles with 50 and also had 3.5 tackles for loss.
“Long press cornerback who proved he could make the jump from the Sun Belt to the SEC without a hitch,” NFL analyst Lance Zierlen said. “Amos can disrupt the release and plays with good short-area movement in man coverage. He can get a little lost at the top of the route and needs occasional safety nets over the top.”

Throughout the draft process Amos bounced between a late first-round to early second-round pick. At the start of last season he was viewed more as a late round pick between the fifth and sixth rounds.
His performance in Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding’s system helped develop and elevate Amos’ draft stock.
“Amos needs to ramp up his run support and trust his eyes in space, but he has the goods to become a solid starting outside corner,” Zierlen added.
