Ole Miss defensive end Tavius Robinson selected by the Baltimore Ravens in 4th Round of NFL Draft
Tavius Robinson was considered the dark horse of this year’s NFL Draft when it came to Ole Miss prospects and that came true on Saturday. Robinson will get a chance to play on Sundays this fall.
The Baltimore Ravens drafted Robinson as the 22nd pick in the fourth round and the 124th overall pick. That is much higher than Robinson was projected by most mock drafts as a 5th round or later selection.
Robinson is the second Ole Miss player drafted this weekend after Jonathan Mingo was taken in the second round on Friday. Mingo was the eight pick of the round and the 39th overall pick in the draft.
After starting his career in his native home of Canada Robinson made the move to Ole Miss and bet on himself. Growing up watching the NFL Draft and now become Robinson seeing his name on the television screen during that same event.
“I remember watching past drafts in Canada in my living room floor and being like, ‘I want to be there one day,’” Robinson said. “Getting the opportunity to come here to Ole Miss and playing my years here and now getting the opportunity to get in the draft, it’s crazy. But it’s what I worked for.”
