Hit That Line: Ole Miss has a warm-up before Tulane + Week 1 locks

The Ole Miss Rebels kick off the 2023 season with the Mercer Bears on Saturday. But before Vaught-Hemingway Stadium opens back up for college football, there are several games Thursday and Friday. On this edition of “Hit That Line”, we are taking a look at the opener for the good guys and giving our 12 locks for Week 1.
Ole Miss may be down two of its offensive playmakers in Zakhari Franklin (knee) and Caden Prieskorn (foot), but the offense is going to be electric once again with trigger man Jaxson Dart and reigning consensus all-american running back Quinshon Judkins.
New addition Tre Harris seems to be the early leader in the clubhouse for the go-to guy and freshman Ayden Williams seems poised to break out. Defensively, Pete Golding‘s journey to bring back the Landshark defense will be anchored by a ton of new faces. Isaac Ukwu, Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste and Monty Montgomery are the notable names in the front seven. But Joshua Harris and Stephon Wynn should free up Jeremiah Pegues, Jared Ivey and Cedric Johnson to win one-on-ones.

In the Ole Miss secondary, you would hope the new faces don’t have to make a ton of plays, but there is a ton of experience there. Several former all-conference performers will be roaming the field for Golding and I expect a lot of big plays from Deantre Prince and Co.
And when will we see Ole Miss quarterbacks Spencer Sanders and Walker Howard? Hopefully early because this would mean the game is in hand.
Tune in for the Ole Miss preview and stay for the Week 1 locks. Listen below.
