Hit That Line: Ole Miss is a 9-3 team on paper + Week 0 locks
Week 0 is finally upon us and Hit That Line is geeked. Before we get into the abbreviated slate, we give you our extended SEC West preview. There is a full debrief of what Ole Miss has done in fall camp and what to look forward to this year with Lane Kiffin‘s bunch.
The schedule for the Rebels is a brutal one but we think the offense will be dynamic enough to win 8 or 9 games. Jaxson Dart returns for another year and has a chance to take another step like Matt Corral did in 2021. The offensive weapons which were added via the NCAA Transfer Portal also leads us to believe Ole Miss has a real shot to play spoiler against some higher-ranked programs this year.

And on defense, what does a Pete Golding defense look like this fall? There are two experienced linebackers in town now in Monty Montgomery and Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste, a uber-talented freshman transfer in TJ Dudley and a Five-Star Plus+ guy in Suntarine Perkins. In the secondary, the Rebels added several all-conference performers to go along with returning starter Deantre Prince. The key for Ole Miss, as always, will be the front. Can Stephon Wynn and Joshua Harris free up the others to make plays?
Who do we think wins the division? Is LSU going to run it back? What is Alabama’s situation at quarterback? Can Jimbo Fisher and Bobby Petrino coexist? Is Hugh Freeze ready to make a statement in year one? And what will Arkansas and Mississippi State look like in very different styles of rebuilds?
