The wait is over. EA Sports College Football is back. The video game which captivated us all for years and years will return this summer. The company updated its Twitter account Thursday with a brand new logo and released a trailer. This landmark movement comes after two years of waiting for the announcement. Now a date has been set.
On3’s Pete Nakos reported on the announcement Thursday.
“The upcoming 2025 EA Sports College Football game will be the first that allows FBS athletes to benefit from their name, image and likeness. Roughly 1.5 million copies of the game were sold in 2013,” Nakos said. “That number is expected to grow exponentially next summer, with college football fans waiting more than a decade for the franchise to return.”

On this edition of Talk of Champions Short Sessions, powered by College Corner, we talk with Matt Brown of “Extra Points”.
He tells us about the highly-anticipated video game’s return and what he knows from talking with sources.
“Over the weekend, I started getting DMs and text messages from folks I know who work in external relations and licensing at power conference athletic departments,” Brown said. “These messages were telling me to watch for an update on the game on Feb 15.”
